Established in 1961, Carneros Volunteer Fire Department was historically named Edgerly Island Volunteer Fire Department.  Carneros operates as one of the nine volunteer departments under the County of Napa, and contracts with CAL FIRE. We are an all-risk department, providing emergency response to all types of emergency incidents from fire and rescue calls to medical emergencies and public assists to the Edgerly Island and Carneros areas extending north to Browns Valley from the Solano County Line including the Napa airport industrial area. We also respond outside our initial response area for larger incidents such automatic aid in the Napa City area and other areas of Napa County. We also respond to statewide emergencies. Carneros Volunteer Fire Department operates and maintains two fire engines, Engine 10 and Engine 210.

Engine 10
Engine 10 is our "first out" Type-I fire engine. E-10 carries 500 gallons of water, and has a Class-A foam system which allows for better extinguishment of fires. E-10 is also equipped with BLS medical equipment and supplies, vehicle extrication tools (jaws of life), hydraulic rescue tools and heavy lifting airbags. E-10 is housed at our satellite station on Highway 121 next to The Carneros Inn.

Engine 210
Engine 210 is a Type-III fire engine designed primarily for fighting wildland fires. It has 500 gallons of water, and has a Class-A foam system. In addition to fighting wildland fires, E-210 is equipped with a full cache of BLS medical equipment and supplies. E-210 is housed at our main station on Milton Road.
